blogging experience

To me, have to do these blogs, was a nice experience, I enjoyed make blogs, and make me relax remembering a lot of things about the blog of the week, like the trips, some picture with friends, or experience in the university.

I think, this way to learn English is so useful, because, combine the language with things of us, I think is a good form to make a more useful the language because it become more personal and the interactions are more natural.

To me this way to work, help me a lot, I added some word to my vocabulary and remember others.
In the last year, in the school I just had English in one semester and the other was all PSU, in the moment I was think it was nice, but my English start to become bad, to me the English is a essential tool to developed in the future, and study the language constantly in a good form to keep a good level.

Maybe in the future, make video blogs is other tool to study the English, but maybe, it turn hard, because not all have skills to the edition of videos (include me). This way to study the English could reinforce the oral part of the English, and make it entertaining.
If I continue making blogs, maybe I write of things of the life of all, things that all have to do, some interesting issue or maybe some strange points like promotions, ovnis or urban legends, buu!! , I think that it could be nice.

my favorite subjet

In the university I think in all majors are subjects that are something new to the students. In my case I have subjects that are related with the dentistry and some basic science knowledge, for example biology, chemistry, anatomy and "destrezas". The three first are related with all the health majors, is something to know when you start a health major, but "destrezas” is a little different, I mean, is a subject related with all dentistry, and this in my favorite.

In “destrezas” I started to know the oral cavity, some cares when the professional assist patients, some of the way to make the things when I work like a dentist. I liked so much because is my first view to my major.

The subject consists of theoretical class and practice class, in the theoretical we learn about dentistry things like the pathology, the incidence of dentistry in the society, microbiology, etc. I remember in the start of the year the classes consist in rounds tables, in these classes, specialty in the dentistry come to spoke about they works, the impact of the specialty in Chile and the way that they convert specialist in the dentistry. I liked so much that classes because they makes me a imagine of maybe I be in the future.

Places in the south of Chile

Well, in this post I will talk you about the south of Chile in the view of my experience.

To me the south of Chile is one of the most beauty places in the word, full of vegetation, pretty cities, and a lot of good food.

How I say before, I’m from Calama, the south is the opposite of the place where I come, in Calama exist a little of vegetation, and the rest is desert, never have rain and the weather is so strange.

The first time that I went to the south was when I was 4 years approx. I remember a little of the trip: with my family went to Puerto Montt and after went to Chiloe, in the way we visited Valdivia, Temuco and others cities but I don’t remember much.

After, in the 2012, we repeat the same trip with my family, this time I remember a lot of things, the south was incredible. The places that I liked so much were Puerto Varas, Frutillar, Chiloe (this island is really wonderful).

I have the opportunity to know the “carretera austral”. It is a highway that connects Puerto Montt with Villa O’Higgins. It is one of my favorite trips. With my family arrived in Balmaceda and we rent a car. it was a fabulous trip, with to many places to visit, like Tortel, Puyuhuapi (if you want to relax ,the lodge in Puyuhuapy is perfect), the marble cathedrals, San Rafael lake and others.

More to the south, in the end of Chile (and the world to) is the Patagonia. You can go to the Patagonia and have a wonderful trip, with a lot of excursions, too much beautiful scenery, and you can know and be part of the traditions of the zone. In the Patagonia is “Torres del Paine Park”. The geographic in this place is so special and beautiful, is considerate one of the world wonderful.

I have the luck to be there, is really precious the places in the park. All is beauty; you can see condores in the sky, and some animals if you have luck.

The university students, especially of the "la Chile" students, have to use a platform to receive and communicate their questions to the teachers. This platform is "u-cursos".
In this page you can see your calcifications (not always is a good new :( ), download the thigs with you study like the power point presentations, what the teachers make their classes.
Also you can make meetings groups to answers questions of your partners, and learn something more.
All of the users have their own profile, where they can send archives to their classmates or their teachers, for example, we have to upload some photos of our mouth for an activity of the oral cavity.
U-cursos shows you all your courses in the university, until the tutorials. Each courses have subdivisions, it is a calendar, the mail of the courses, meeting group, schedule, the members of the courses, teacher material,etc.
I have to visit this website too often, because I need to download a lot of material to study, also this website have their own mobile app, it is so comfortable because in every place where you have signal, you can check u-cursos.
U-cursos is a good tool to communicate with the members of the university, if this page doesn’t exist; I think that the university life could be more difficult.
I like u-cursos but the page sometimes is difficult to use in my case. I remember the first time I entry to the page, I really had no idea what I were doing.

my music

The music in the some people is too important, it represent them when they are alone or happy. Is a good form to be with yourself.

In my case I start listen music with my parents, some child songs, and in the trips, I remember that my parents don’t stop to played tom jones and Elvis Presley. Now I share a lot of pleasures with my parents, Elvis for example, is one of my favorite singers now, also in the house my mom always tuned the radio with songs, like Jose Luis Perales, Franco Simone, etc. and now I liked so much that music.

I like al lot of styles of music, pop, indie, blues, reggaeton, alternative, but my favorite music is rock. I like it so much, this style of music give me energy, and makes me happy. For example I like run with rock, it motivate a lot when you are tired.

Also I like to much the Chilean music, cuecas and “tonadas” for example.

Sometimes I play guitar, I like to play songs that I like or simply play the first thing that come to my head.

I remember when I was child, the songs of Juanes (I was a romantic boy) were stuck on my mind, I was singing all day: "tengo, tengo la camisa negra". 

In my list of bands, I like ac/dc, Aerosmith, the Beatles, blink 182, Coldplay, but the foo fighters are my favorites, and I like to much their songs, for example, “the pretender” and “these days".

The last years the “foo’s” came to make a concert in Chile and with a friend I were there, it was an incredible experience!!

When I traveled to brazil with my class in third year of secondary we went with my friends to the beach, to have a great time, I remember that we play a lot, we bought a ball and we tried to play volley, but it was so difficult to us, we laughed a lot, have a lot of funny times, is was a genial day. 

When we were return to the hotel, I asked for a Brazilian man if he could take a picture, he took a lot of bad photos but this was nice, and i liked so much.

The photo shows us in the sidewalk of the street of the beach, I remember that day was so hot and we were so tired, but so happy. Also,  after we had some activities and parties with the group. That trip was awesome!

I like this photo because, show me with my friends, I miss them a lot, they study in other cities, and we can't to get together. I hope we get toghter in winter vacations in Calama.

The "Mechoneo"

How I Lived the Mechoneo.

When I started the university, I knew the “mechoneo” but I had never seen it before. It is a  welcome tradition to the universities, the guys of second year of your career, prepare to you a lot of  disgusting thing, like rotten food, they put "manjar" in your body, throw you thigs like, eggs and flour, and sometimes they cut your clothes.

In my case I was so nervous for this day; even it was a surprise day, until the day came. 

I remember that  a student of other year came in the classroom to make us a diagnostic test, the start of the test appear serious but after the answer became in others things, like related with sex, ( it was really amusing) and after that, the guys of second year, enter to the classroom and the “mechoneo” started.

They made us take off our shoes, and tie us with a cord. Later we went to the outside and in the route, the second grade guys, threw us flour, put "manjar" in my ears, and some classmates put it in their underarm and they paint our faces. I remember that I catch a girl who was "mechonenado" and got dirty her clothes, after that she shouted: "MECHON REBELDE!!!" and a lot of her partners came to threw me a lot of thigs, I                                                                              don’t know what thigs I had.

Back in the university, the guys for second have some activities, it was really funny, but after that come a disgust part in the "mechoneo": we had to pass in a "tube" with decomposed vegetables, some fish heads, etc.

Later I we must to beg for money in the streets until have $20000. I remember that I don’t had the money, because I went to lonely places (I don’t know Santiago yet :( ) with Soledad, she was my "Mechoneo" partner. And the guys of second obligated to me and Soledad to go to get more money. It really was horrible.

 After we delivered the money, I try to clean me, but it was really difficult. I put a shirt and I come back to my house, so tired and with a lot of pain in my feet.

it was a strange experience, in part of the activity it was funny but after, the only thing I wanted was the mechoneo finished.

The next day, I couldn't take the smell off my nose. And my feet really hurt. I don’t repeat this experience.

The laptop

The technology is something really important in the life of people in these times, a lot of our information are in our device, we use the web for many things, like entertainment and work, in my case for study.

for me the technology is to important, I make a lot of things in my device but I think that the laptop is the most relevant to me, it is a personal computer, too comfortable to use, is more complete than my other gadgets, because in my pc I can watch and do a lot of things that in my phone, for example, I can’t do.

I got my laptop since 2011, it was a present of my aunt and father, I remember that I was so excited when I received, it was my own computer!!

Since this moment I use my pc to do my homework, study (now in the university is the most important learning tool to me), to entertainment, for example I like to watch videos on YouTube, download movies, see my social networks. Also I use my computer to search some board when I have to do something new.

Before entry to the university, I don’t used too much, but, when I started to go to the university, all days I have to use it!! To study and check “u-cursos”, if I have a notification from the teachers. Also I have some books in my pc memory and I use to much those books like netter (anatomy time ! )

I think that if I don’t have computer I can’t work in my things well, I would have to go to some cyber coffee to make my homework, and it is not confortable like have my laptop in home.

My carrer: "Dentistry"

Since I was child I wanted to be a scientist, I have always been a person who has been curious about the world of the discovery, for example when I was 5-6 years old, I would have liked to be paleontologist, but with the years I changed my mind and I wanted to be a marine biologist, because I liked the fish, the life in the sea, the depths of this beauty world, my idol was Jacques Cousteau, my mom always talked about him to me.

When I was 10 years old I started a treatment on my teeth, I had to visited one time in month to the dentistry to fix my dentition, I had the braces for 5 years, and close to 14 years I changed and choosed the dentistry to study in the university.

Since that time there was no changing my decision, but when I have to postulate to the university, I was in problems, "I not sure to study dentistry!", it was a confusion but, I trust in my motivation of every time to study this major and I postulated to dentistry in University of Chile.

Now I’m in this major in the university that I wanted, I so happy to be there, I met some guys, like Sebastian, and Francisca, we study together, I have very funny moments with them. Also I still meeting new guys.

The university is something new for me, I have to do some many things that I don’t had to do before, like study a lot, a lot!! , Live alone, buy my own thigs, etc. but I think that with the time I will familiarize with this new life.

When I graduated, I would like to be a good professional working in the public service, but when I have my specialty, I would to work in a prestigious clinic.

My biography

My name is Oscar Santana Zuleta, I was born in Santiago in 1997, but a couple of month after I traveled to Chuquicamata. In this city, I lived my childhood, I started to go to the garden city and in 2004 I was entry to the school, I started to study in "Colegio Chuquicamata" until 12 grade. Close to 2007 we must to relocated in Calama.  In these years I had too many nice moments like my trip to Brazil with my friends, the anniversary of the school, some party whit my partners, etc. 

In December 2015 I graduated to the school, and in same month I did the PSU, after, I had the results and I was selected to dentistry in "Universidad de Chile", now I am studying in Santiago this major what is the profession that I always wanted to study.

My family is a very important base to me, now they are in Calama they are my mother, my father and my sister who coursing 12 grade. I hope that the next years I will be with her because     she wants to study in Santiago.

Now I'm 18 years old, I live in Santiago, I am alone but I have part of my family to close of me, my grandmother and my aunt live two block beside me. I like too many thigs to do, like play guitar, eat delicious food, do some sport, listen music; my favorite group is foo fighters, the last year i was in their concert etc.

  I hope to be a great dentist, have a good life, and be good                                                     person.
